The Village Center

Because it takes a Village

Create. Discover. Explore. Grow.
Progressive, child-centered, pluralistic, English early childhood education.

The Philosophy

Welcome to The Village Center, a small, play-based, English language learning center for young children and families.  The most important goal of the program is to bring quality engaging education to your child in a warm, safe environment.  Learning is child-centered, meaning that we base lesson plans and curriculum on your child’s interests; building, expanding and deepening their understanding of the world around them on a developmentally appropriate level. We believe learning should be full of questions and not answers. We believe in creating a positive sense of self so that our little students can come to learn more about themselves and one another. We believe in leaning on each other for learning and fun. We believe in hugs, laughter, singing, dancing, eating and exploring. If you believe in this too, come join The Village!

About

The vision behind The Village Center, Daphne Levy Nash has over 15 years of experience working in education as a preschool teacher, elementary school teacher, learning specialist and educational consultant in both New York and Israel. Originally from New York, Daphne moved to Israel 6 years ago with her young family. She holds an undergraduate degree from Syracuse University in Child and Family Studies and a Masters Degree of Special and Elementary Education from Bank Street College of Education in New York City.

Daphne has been passionate about education since childhood. Creating nurturing learning environments is what she does best. Pluralism, kindness, collaboration and warmth are just a few of the strong values that Daphne integrates when working with children. She believes that learning should be fun, engaging, dynamic and developmentally appropriate for each child. Alongside the importance of the individual, Daphne deeply believes in the power of community, for we all do a little bit better when we have our people by our side. After all, they say it takes a village….
